Emergency Management

Bluffdale City’s Emergency Management program is responsible for coordinating the resources from all levels of government and multiple volunteer organizations to assist the citizens of Bluffdale City from the effects of disasters.

The Emergency Management program supports the community before, during, and after events and major disasters through mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery activities.

Our program consists of a part-time Emergency Management Coordinator who serves as the city’s liaison on emergency preparedness, response and recovery, training programs, and drills and exercises. The Emergency Management Coordinator will also operate the Emergency Coordination Center when necessary to manage the distribution of city services and resources to respond to and recover from a disaster. The Emergency Program Manager works closely with the Fire Department, Police Department, Public Works, and other City, County, and State agencies.

The City has an Emergency Operations Plan and a Neighborhood Emergency Plan. There are multiple opportunities for community education such as CPR, CERT, Red Cross, and FEMA training.

Prep & Prosper Classes

Emergency Preparedness is not solely about major catastrophes; it extends to being ready for minor emergencies that can arise unexpectedly. From surviving a blizzard in your car to dealing with smaller-scale crises, preparedness is a fundamental aspect of community resilience.

In Bluffdale, we’re fortunate to have a wealth of expertise within our community. In an effort to harness this collective knowledge and connect residents with the valuable experience found throughout the city, we’re thrilled to introduce a new initiative - Prep & Prosper. This is a series of free classes designed to equip residents with essential skills for various scenarios. These classes will occur every 2nd Monday at 7 pm. Typically they will be located at the City Hall Community Room.

Prep & Prosper aims to foster a sense of community by ensuring that residents are well-prepared for a spectrum of situations. By tapping into the knowledge within Bluffdale, we hope to create a network of individuals who are not only informed but also connected.

If you have a skill you would be willing to share with our community, please email emergencyprep@bluffdale.gov

Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to enhance your skills and connect with your neighbors.
