The City of Bluffdale will abate 100 percent (100%) of the basic residential utility services charged by the City for residents of Bluffdale that are members of the military who have been activated to full-time military duty, and 50 percent (50%) of the basic residential utility services charged by the City for residents of Bluffdale that are disabled military veterans.
Basic residential service is defined as the fees associated with the water base fee plus up to 12,000 gallons of water, 1 garbage can service, 1 recycling can service, the streetlights fee, and the storm water fee.
All additional services will be charged at the full rate.
In order to qualify for this abatement, the military personnel must be a resident of the City of Bluffdale and be living in the home.
For activated military personnel, eligibility shall be established by the person, or family member. Complete the application (link below) and attach a copy of the United States military activation papers.
The monthly abatement shall remain in effect until the date of the qualified person's release from active duty.
For disabled military veterans, eligibility shall be established by the person, or family member. Complete the application (link below) and attach a copy of form DD-214 and/or the letter from the Department of Veterans Affairs detailing your benefits. City personnel will verify the disability status with the County at the time of application and annually, thereafter.
The abatement for disabled military veterans shall extend as long as the disability remains.
You are required to inform the city if at any time, your active duty status or disabed status expires.
