The Appeals and Variance Hearing Officer (AVHO) is appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the City Council. The AVHO is tasked to hear and review applications for variances to the City’s land use ordinances and appeals to administrative decisions. The AVHO acts as the City’s Appeal Authority in many cases, and operates under the ordinances regarding the same in the Utah State Code and Bluffdale City Municipal Code. The Appeals and Variance Hearing Officer hears cases as needed, usually on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays. Please contact the City’s Planning Division at firstname.lastname@example.org or (801)-254-2200*422 for more information or to apply to be heard before the AVHO.
